Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD)

Aspirating Detection Systems are highly sensitive so they can detect a fire at an early stage.

The system is formed with a central detection unit that draws air through a network of pipes. As the air is passed through the pipes it is filtered to remove any contaminants to provide an effective and fast response to the laser detection of smoke particles. As well as early detection of fire situations the system reduces the amount of false fire alarm activations.

The system is very discreet so can be used in areas where more traditional systems might not be suitable. This includes areas such as data and communications rooms, workshops that can be dusty or where the building height or temperature would make standard detection less practical.

Various companies manufacture aspirating detection systems yet the most commonly known system is the VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus).

Bell Lancaster can provide design, installation, commission and maintenance services of Aspiration systems to ensure that you have the most efficient system to protect your premises and business continuity.
