They form a significant aspect of Passive Fire Safety and require minimum inspection of six monthly intervals.

Fire Doors are graded to contain fire spread for different lengths of time and this is identified as part of the licensing of each door. They are also made of different tested materials (timber, UPVC, steel) to provide appropriate protection in various areas of usage.
